Located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, the trek from Barsu is a mere 7 kilometers, offering a delightful trekking experience with panoramic views of peaks such as Bhagirathi, Bandarpoonch, Black Peak, and several others.
One of the easiest treks in the Garhwal Himalayas, Dayara Bugyal is ideal for beginners and is popular from May to November. The trail passes through dense Oak and Rhododendron forests, and travelers can enjoy meadows, streams, and the peaceful sound of cattle bells. Along the way, Barnala Bugyal, another picturesque alpine meadow, adds to the charm of the trek. The return journey follows the same route to Barsu and then proceeds by road to Haridwar via Rishikesh.
Board the AC train from Delhi Railway Station at 06:55 AM to Haridwar. Upon arrival, meet your travel guide and drive to Rishikesh. Check in at the pre-booked hotel. The afternoon is free for leisure activities, and in the evening, you can attend the Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Ghat. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, drive to Barsu via Uttarkashi. The journey along the Bhagirathi River offers spectacular views of the river valley. On arrival, check in at the guesthouse, enjoy dinner, and overnight stay.
Begin trekking from Barsu to Barnala Bugyal, passing through dense Oak and Rhododendron forests. Enjoy stunning views of Draupadi Ka Danda and spot summer shelters (Chhanis) for cattle herders. Arrive at the campsite, relax, and explore the surrounding meadow. Overnight stay in tents.
After breakfast, trek from Barnala to Dayara Bugyal, ascending through Pine forests and reaching the tree line to the alpine meadow. Set up camp and spend the evening enjoying the serene surroundings and group activities. Overnight stay at the campsite.
Spend the day exploring Dayara Bugyal. Enjoy gentle walks along streams, rolling meadows, and panoramic views of surrounding peaks. Watch out for rare birds like the Griffon and Lammergier. Due to the high altitude, the day’s trek is kept short and easy. Overnight stay in camp.
After breakfast, trek back to Barsu, passing a steep trail and witnessing the remnants of the 1991 earthquake. Continue by road to Uttarkashi, check in at the hotel / guesthouse, and enjoy a relaxing evening. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive to Haridwar Railway Station (approx. 190 km) and board the train to Delhi at 18:05 PM. Arrive in Delhi by 22:45 PM, marking the end of the trek and tour services.
