Auden's Col is a little-known mountain pass lying on the connecting ridge of Jogin I (6,465 m) and Gangotri III (6,580 m) at an altitude of around 5,400 m. It connects the sacred pilgrim centers of Gangotri and Kedarnath. The pass is named after J.B. Auden, a British Geographical Survey officer, who first discovered this passage connecting the Bhilangana Valley and Rudragaira Peak in 1939. The Auden's Col Trek starts from Gangotri Valley and ends at Kedarnath Valley, making it a favorite for adventurous mountaineers seeking challenging trails.
Trekking to Auden's Col requires both skill and courage, as it provides an unmatched experience of the raw power of nature. The trail involves walking on glacial ice and traversing moraines, demanding physical fitness and endurance. Every year, adventurers from across the globe attempt this trek. It is also considered the most adventurous pilgrimage trek in the Garhwal region.
At Trekking in India, we offer an exclusive Auden's Col Trek tour, led by expert guides with prior experience on this trail. Explore the pristine natural beauty, glaciers, and high-altitude landscapes while enjoying a safe and comfortable trekking experience. The best time to undertake this trek is June to mid-October.
