Ladakh with Lamayuru & Tsomoriri Lake Jeep Safari Tour

Connecting two uppermost high altitude regions of India, Ladakh and Leh, this jeep safari trip brings you more close to the monastic culture that prevails in the city. It starts from Leh, and makes your way through Lamayuru, Chumathang, Tsomoriri, and Uletokpo. Along with covering some of the most beautiful Indus valley monasteries, this trip will take you to Gurudwara called Patthar Sahib, which was believed to be constructed by Lama to commonarate the visit of Guru Nanak Dev. Locals says that this Gurudwara is an epitome of love and respect that people of Tibet holds for Guru and his teachings. Tibetans even idolize Guru Nanak as a Buddhist Saint and call him fondly as Guru Gompa Maharaj. Besides some sacred sites, you will be visiting some of the high altitude villages, which makes you believe that civilization do exist in this part of the world, where the climatic conditions are just too extreme.

Day 01: Delhi - Leh

In the morning catch a flight for Leh, on arrival meet our executive and transfer to hotel. The day is for complete rest as its compulsory to get acclimatise with high altitude By evening one can roan in colorful Leh market. Dinner and overnight stay at Leh hotel.

Day 02: Leh local sightseeing

Today, you will be going for a sightseeing tour to places like Thiksey Monastery, Hemis Monastery and Shey Palace. Dinner and overnight stay at Leh hotel.

Day 03: Leh - Spituk - Alchi - Uleytokpo (80 kms, 3 hrs)

Post breakfast, leave for Ulytopko, one of the most beautiful sites in Jammu and Kashmir for camping. During the journey to Ulytopko, you will be visiting the Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, which was built by the Lamas of Leh in 1517 to commemorate the visit of Guru Nanak Dev. After Ulytopko, you will Spituk Monastery and then drive to Alchi monastery, which is the only monastery in Ladakh on flat ground resembling Tabo Monastery of Spiti. After the monastery tour, go back to Ulytopko for overnight stay and dinner. The evening will be free for leisure.

Day 04: Uleytokpo - Lamayuru - Leh (180 kms/6 hrs)

Early morning, you will drive to Lamayuru, which is famed for its 10th-century ancient monastery. On the way back, Lamayuru to Leh, we drive through a picturesque landscape to reach the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar river, 4 km before Nimmo village, and later we visit Likir Gompa situated atop a windy cliff top overlooking the beautiful village of Likir. Basgo is certainly the most impressive of Ladakhi citadels despite its ruined state. In the Late afternoon drive back to Leh for the overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 05: Leh - Chumathang - Tsomoriri (240 kms/7 hrs)

After breakfast, embark on a drive to Tsomoriri via Chumathang, a small village in Leh that is famous for its hot spring. After a short relaxing break at Chumathang, we will head to Tsomoriri, after that you will visit the Tsomoriri Lake, a calm and sacred high altitude lake located at an elevation of 4,595 m. Spend some time at Lake and visit a nearby village called Korzok. Dinner and overnight stay at Tsomoriri.

Day 06: Tsomoriri - Leh (240 kms/7 hrs)

In the morning, we will revisit Korzok to see the monastery. The few barley fields at Korzok must be among the highest cultivation in the world. Later return to Leh for an overnight stay.

Day 07: Leh - Delhi

Early morning, you will be transferred to Leh airport to board a flight to Delhi.
